Description
Siberian pine nut oil is cold-pressed from the kernels of the Siberian Pine (Pinus Sibirica) that grow naturally in the remote and ecologically clean regions of Siberia.
The beneficial properties of pine nut oil have been known to folk medicine from ancient times. They are supported in Christian, Vedic and popular science literature.
Traditionally, this oil has been used as a soothing remedy for digestive problems such as gastritis, stomach ulcers, heartburn, h.pylori. There are plenty of individuals reporting positive effect of this oil on reduction of unpleasant and sometimes debilitating symptoms associated with these conditions.
Modern scientific medicine has started investigating the properties of pine nut oil. A 2016 review by K. Xie, E.A. Miles, P.C. Calder in “Journal of Functional Foods” reported on potential benefits of the oil in reducing inflammation, “improving insulin sensitivity, lowering risk of cardiovascular disease, controlling appetite and reducing body weight”. However further studies are needed.
Siberian Pine nut oil is the richest only known source of pinolenic acid (rare Omega-6 fatty-acid) not present in any other plants. Consuming pine nut oil and pinolenic acid has favourable effects on appetite control. It works by increasing the blood concentration of satiety or “hunger suppressing” hormones. These send a feeling of “fullness” to the brain potentially decreasing the desire to eat.
Pine nut oil also contains several lipid-soluble antioxidants and many other biologically active components including phytosterols, tocopherols and squalene.
Being a natural remedy it acts slowly and gently with no contraindications.
– Anti inflammatory action
– Favourable effect on appetite control
– Support good balance of blood lipids by reducing concentration of LDL (low density lipoproteins)
– Support normal insulin sensitivity
Keep in a cool dry place away from heat and light. Alternatively, refrigerate.
Take 1 tsp (5ml) of oil 15-30 minutes before meals, 2-3 times a day.
Many people notice an improvement in their symptoms, which they associate with taking the oil, after a week or two from the start of their course.
However it’s recommended to take pine nut oil for at least 1-2 months which is a general guidance for any other functional oils.
If you prefer to try the product out first, 100 ml bottle or a tub of capsules is probably a sensible choice.
